(Exodus 6:9)  Moses told this to the Israelites, but they refused to listen to Moses because of their impatience and anguish of spirit and because of their cruel bondage.

When I read that, both in the Amplified and in the King James Version, this morning and then prayed, I felt the Lord speaking to me just a little bit about hindrances that sometimes form in our lives to keep us from hearing the Word that the Lord is trying to give us.

You know, sometimes God speaks to us in various ways and we’re only able to get the surface of what He’s saying.   We only get the part that we can easily relate to.  Sometimes we only discern the part that’s good or the part that promises blessing to us.  And we fail to listen to exactly what God is saying.

(Proverbs 18:14) . . . but a wounded spirit who can bear?

There’s something within the spirit of man that helps us to endure infirmity.   But once our spirit, the spirit of man . . .   We’re not talking about the Holy Spirit.   We’re talking about the spirit of man.

Once the spirit of man becomes wounded, it buckles his knees.

And I’m sensing in my spirit that we, some of us, are standing before the Lord today like the children of Israel.

We cannot hear the real clear Word that God wants us to hear because our spirit has been wounded, our spirit has been crushed.

And this . . . Perhaps it’s not present circumstances.   Perhaps it’s years ago.   Perhaps it’s things that we endured when we were children, when we were young, when we had first come to the Lord.

Because we don’t want anything that would hinder us from being able to hear the instruction and the preparation that the Lord desires to sow into us that we would be able to cross over the Jordan and go in and take all the possessions that the Lord has promised to us.

And according to this, impatience is something that can cloud our hearing.   It can somehow hinder us.

And you know, I feel like in some way we can pray and ask that the Lord would send those gathering angels, that they would come to us in our lives and help gather out all the things that hinder, all the things that are stumbling blocks.

And if your impatience is a stumbling block that keeps you, or prevents you, from knowing the perfect will of God, then I’d like to release my impatience to the Lord.

And I’ve tried to do that before.   And it’s not easy to do it.   Maybe I need some help.   Maybe I need some of those angels that gather to come and gather out all those offending things that hinder me from knowing God’s perfect will and His perfect . . .

But somehow I’m wondering if perhaps we have the Word of the Lord, but we’re not discerning the right timing.

Do you think it would be wrong?   Do you believe it would be wrong for somebody in this service this morning to say, “Lord, I still believe that You’re walking toward us today with determined steps?”

He said in Jeremiah, “I know the plans that I have for you.”   God knows what kind of things He wants to do in our lives.

Give Me your wounded spirit.   Give Me your impatience, saith the Lord.   Give Me the anguish of your life and give Me your slavery and your bondage.   And I will give you, saith the Lord, the anointing of the overcomer.

I will cause you to cross over, and you shall break through the boundaries that the enemy has placed before you, and you shall go in and eat the fruit of Canaan.

For I decree and declare the season of change is upon you even now.   Receive that which I have already prepared.
